He highlighted that many people had financially benefited from the event. He mentioned that one family, which operated 130 boats, earned nearly ₹30 crores. CM Yogi responded to the allegations made by the Samajwadi Party that boat operators in Prayagraj were exploited during the Kumbh Mela.
"I would like to share the success story of a person who operated boats. This person’s family owned 130 boats. During the Kumbh Mela, each boat earned between ₹50,000 and ₹52,000 daily. The CM also emphasized that millions of devotees from across the country and abroad gathered in Prayagraj to take holy dips at the Triveni Sangam during the Kumbh Mela.
The CM noted that the Kumbh Mela was organized successfully without any disturbances. "There were no crimes during the entire 45 days," he remarked. He also revealed that ₹7,500 crore was invested for the management of the Kumbh Mela, and nearly ₹3 lakh crores worth of business was conducted during the event. The hotel industry earned ₹40,000 crore, food and other daily necessities generated ₹33,000 crore, and the transport sector earned ₹1.5 lakh crore, he mentioned. The CM stated that the economic impact of organizing the Kumbh Mela will significantly contribute to the 6.5% GDP growth of the country this year.
