New passport rules to be implemented from March

According to the provisions of Section 24..
The Ministry of External Affairs issued an official notification to this effect on February 24. It is reported that the passport rules have been amended as per the provisions of Section 24 of the Passport Act, 1967. The rules for getting a passport in India have been amended. Birth certificate is mandatory for those born after 1 October 2023 while applying for a passport, the central government has issued an order to this effect.

Birth certificate is mandatory

Most of those born after October 1, 2023, have a birth certificate. To get a passport, you will need to get a letter from the municipal birth or death registration authorities.
